The Circus Dance Show

On 6 July 2016 Bradon Forest Theatre was magically transformed into a Circus Big Top to stage the Dance Show led by Dance Teacher, Miss Partington. Dance students and non-dance students from Year 7 through to Year 11 had been practising hard at lunchtime and after school to perfect their 'Circus' performance. The Key Stage 4 Dance Club had helped choreograph sections of the show as part of their GCSE work and some Year 7 and 8 students added some impressive Bollywood dance for more diversity.

Libby Year 7 -  I like learning the group dances and then getting picked for the smaller group piece. The excitement of the show and performing to my friends, family and teachers was great!

Jodie, Year 8 - I liked being able to our own piece in to illustrate different skills. It was great meeting and working with other year groups.

Beau, Year 9 - It was fun and improved my confidence loads. Definitely would do it again. Really enjoyed putting on the costume and turning into a different person.

Hannah, Year 10 - It was good experience and has made me feel more confident. It was a bit scary but I achieved a lot from it and I'm glad I did it.

The performance was a sell out and Miss Partington commented, "The dancers were amazingly professional and the KS3 and KS4 Dance Club helped tremendously by leading some of the rehearsals. The students were amazingly well disciplined backstage and showed tremendous support for each other."

Mrs Bone's Textiles Club helped out with the costumes by making the lovely neck ruffs for all the dancers.
