A First for truly green Young Enterprise Team

The Bradon Forest 'Recyclables' picked up first prize at the Wiltshire Young Enterprise Trade Fair, held at the Nationwide Headquarters in Swindon, on Friday 2 December 2016.

The Bradon Forest Young Enterprise team have successfully completed their quest so far. The 'Recyclables', like marvel characters, have a quest, and that is to help save the environment by incorporating recyclable materials into the products they produce.

They sold an extensive range of gifts at the Trade Fair: cookies in a jar, coasters made from odd tiles, bowls made from old vinyl records, candles in jam jars, cards, reindeer dust and  a selection of jewellery items. The total sales revenue amassed was over £200 with an impressive net profit figure of £170.

The 'Recyclables' enthusiasm, professionalism, confidence and maturity led judges and teachers alike to assume they were well beyond their years.

Business Studies Teacher, Mrs Hawley said; "If they are to guarantee a place at the national finals of Young Enterprise, they must now refine their products, seeking a gap in the market yet still focusing on recyclable materials. We wish them well on their quest and hope to see many more successes during their Young Enterprise year."

We would also like to thank local Business Adviser, Anne Young, Managing Director, The Pear Tree at Purton, for her continued support.
