A taste of Further Education for Year 10

On Friday 22 April 2016 Lackham College and Cirencester College both came to give Year 10 students some valuable insight into life at college after school.

Emma Smith from Lackham College was accompanied by two students, Anna and Lily, plus 4 baby rats, 2 female bearded dragons and 1 corn snake! The unusual visitors captivated the audience and the interactive session gave students a better understanding of the animal management courses that they run at Lackham.

Alison Slaven from Cirencester College came along with some familiar faces, ex-Bradon students:  Yasmin Thorn, Mayah Craig and Holly Terrett. Interactive Q&A sessions gave Bradon Forest Year 10 students the chance to ask about life at Cirencester College, things they wish they had done differently at GCSE and finally what they are intending to do next such as business apprenticeships and University.

Swindon College and Wiltshire College visited the school last month during National Apprenticeship Week to give Year 10 a taste of the courses that they run and New College will be visiting in June.

Many thanks to the Colleges for giving coming in and giving our students the opportunity to understand what life after Bradon Forest could be like. Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Catherine Chappell.
