GIFTED/MORE ABLE STUDENTS AND OXFORD UNIVERSITY

If students are considering applying to Oxford, they are able to start the process in Year 10. Merton College is our link college and several students from Bradon Forest attended this particular college recently.

June End of Term Talks and Tours at Merton College, Wednesday 1 June 2016 & Friday 3 June 2016

Students in Years 10-11 and their families are warmly invited to visit Merton College at 1.30pm on Wednesday 1 June 2016 and Friday 3 June 2016 to find out more about the Oxford application process, meet a current undergraduate student and look around the college. Each event will last approximately 1½ hours. Booking is recommended but is not essential.

YEAR 11 'INVESTIGATING OPTIONS DAY': MEDICINE, HUMANITIES, SOCIAL SCIENCES

Oxford Pathways have opened applications for their Investigating Options Subject Day covering Medicine, Humanities, and Social Sciences. These events will take place in Oxford, and are designed for gifted and talented Year 11 students who would like to learn more about university, subject options, and Oxford itself. A synopsis and link to sample programmes are here:

The Investigating Medicine Day will be held on Saturday 2 July 2016. It will include information on making a competitive application for Medicine, career paths, and the opportunities available through studying related courses, as well as academic taster sessions in Medicine and related subjects.

The Investigating Humanities Day will be held on Saturday 9 July 2016. It will include information on the different Humanities courses available and career paths. Students will take part in taster lectures and seminars, and will have the chance to experience a mock Oxford tutorial.

The Investigating Social Sciences Day will be held on Saturday 16 July 2016. It will include information on the different Social Science courses available and career paths. Students will take part in taster lectures and seminars, and will have the chance to experience a mock Oxford tutorial.
