Bradon Forest's Young Writers

Bethany Beales, Jayden Climpson, Oliver Curtis, Isabel Smith and Caitlyn Seton all had their poems published recently in The Young Writers Poetopia collection.

They had all entered the Young Writers' Poetopia competition and had to write a poem based on the rules of one of five factions: Castisas for reflective, honest poetry; Temperantia for angry, assertive poetry; Humilitas for positive, uplifting poetry; Benevolentia for emotional poetry; and Industria for diligent, structured poetry. There was a sixth faction, Dissimillis,  for poems outside the parameters of the others. Poems for publication were then selected based on style, expression, imagination and technical skill.

Hatty Bulpitt, Tamara Lee, Melody & Ruth Pike, Finlay & Steven Newton and Kieran Foy & Jack Wilkins all had their stories published in the recent Grim Tales Anthology of stories. The students had to write a story with a beginning, middle and an end in just 100 words. they could either write a completely original tale or add a twist to a well-loved classic. They rose to the challenge magnificently and again stories were chosen based on style, expression, imagination and technical skill.

Congratulations to all of the students involved on their printed work.
