Day of Art for Year 10

Year 10 Art students dedicated a whole day to expand their creative skills subject on Thursday 19 May 2016.

The objective of the Year 10 Art Day is to develop students skills, either in areas where they need more exploration or areas where they have shown particular aptitude. It is also the start to their second project which is about the Sea or the Environment, and will form part of their GCSE assessment folder. The group was split into classes exploring ceramics, painting, sculpture and stencil work.

The art workshops push students beyond their normal comfort zone enabling them to mix with different peers and teachers. They also have to master the discipline of starting and completing a piece of work in one session.
