Den Pesky Solen - A KS3 Production

‘Den Pesky Solen’ (The Pesky Sun) was the 2016, epic viking adventure presented by Lower School Drama Club. The 'vikings', with the assistance of their directors, devised, scripted, and staged the family fun adventure which was full of danger, storms, ship wrecks, dragons, two headed bird monsters, grim reaper Doris, and a ship load of soggy vikings!

Rehearsals began in March, 2016. ‘Erik the Viking’ by Terry Jones was used as a stimulus for workshops where cast, crew, and directors explored themes, characters, and possible stories. Through rehearsals the ensemble created text, scenes, costume, and props. Before you could shout “Land ahoy!”, “By the all seeing eye of Oden!”, or “In the name of Thor’s Hammer!” a viking production had invaded the Bradon Forest Theatre to conquer the imaginations, and thoroughly entertain all who attended.

‘Den Pesky Solen’ opened it’s four show run to Year 5, and Year 6 pupils of St. Mary's Primary School in Purton (who certainly left the auditorium full of viking spirit!) and finished the run to the general public who giggled, laughed and cheered from beginning to end. Den Pesky Solen was the latest play in a long line of youth theatre productions which Bradon Forest Theatre, in Bradon Forest School has been proudly presenting for over 30 years.
