Drama Performances

Miss Wrench reports:
39 Steps – A Year 11 GCSE Performance

GCSE Drama students did well on their final scripted performance of the 39 Steps. The audience enjoyed the melodrama telling the story of runaway Richard Hannay, (played by George Newnham and Chris Jacobs) dragged into a spy drama and on a quest to clear his name of a crime he did not commit. Moments of physical comedy and exaggerated characters had the audience in stitches.

“I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the Y11's performance of The 39 Steps last night. The students performed so well in portraying the characters and in telling the intricate story with aspects of comedy thrown in. They were a delight” - Sue Watson

Revolting Rhymes - A Drama Club Performance
The Revolting Rhymes, by Drama Club and Year 10, was a hit. Over 30 students worked together to devise the piece, using Roald Dahl's original poems as a stimulus. The lunch time and after school performances proved extremely popular with some students returning a second time to see the show.

“We worked in a giant team, we all helped each other.” Imogen Smith, Year 8

“It was great fun performing it and everyone who came to see it said was great quality for our age group.” Chloe Nobbs, Year 8
