AROUND 30 students from the Swindon area were rewarded for their outstanding achievements at a recent awards ceremony at Cirencester Sixth Form College.

Former Bradon Forest School pupil, Mary Francis from Cricklade, was presented with one of the top awards, the 1457 Award for Excellence in English Literature. She was described as “ a highly sensitive and accomplished critic of English literature, whose gentle demeanour and uniquely thoughtful contributions made her an invaluable member of the group." She is now studying English at the University of Warwick.

A new award this year, donated by McGills Accountants, for Aspiring Accountants was awarded to another ex Bradon Forest student George Dudman, also from Swindon. He was described as: “ a thoughtful student who was also one of the hardest-working, frequently submitting additional questions to be marked. This was a strategy that paid off for him when he gained an A grade at A2 Accounting. George has now gone on to Aston University to further his studies.
