Game Changer Drama Workshop for Year 9

Earlier this week Cardboard Box Productions were in school performing a show called ‘Game Changer’ and ran a Drama skills workshop with some of the Year Nine students.  The show is an adaptation of a novel by Tim Bowler called 'Game Changer'.  Cardboard Box Productions choose the novel because it deals with mental health issues in an accurate, non-stereotypical way.  They wanted to combat the stereotypes and stigma around mental health by showing an insight into one person's life with Agoraphobia.

'"I hope that the lovely Year 9 students felt proud of their super work; their talent is most exciting for their potential next year and beyond!" said Georgina Stephens, Performing Arts Lecturer.

"The show was really inspiring.  It gave us great ideas to adapt a story for performance which will be especially useful for GCSE Drama next year," said one of the students who took part in the skills workshop.
