Miss K Mazelin’s twin sister was one of our visiting interviewers for the Year 11 Student Interviews again this year. In the afternoon she kindly agreed to hold a modern day mock trial with her sister’s History group. As the class are studying Crime and Punishment throughout time, it was the perfect opportunity to reinforce the key features of a modern trial. The class was divided in half and half worked to present a drink-driving case court trial whilst the other half put on a sketch to show the features of a medieval trial on a case of theft.  Students were able to evaluate the changes since medieval times and give their opinions on why different aspects had changed. The students have been great to work with throughout their GCSE course and worked maturely with their visitor.  Miss M Mazelin was really impressed by their maturity and willingness to get involved: and e-mailed:

“Please pass on my sincere thanks to the staff who made the day go so smoothly. I always enjoy interviewing Bradon Forest students and this year was no exception. It’s great to be involved in allaying nerves and hopefully, some of their college interviews will be less nerve-wracking now!

I also owe you a professional vote of thanks as you gave me a wonderful opportunity to see you teach and be part of a lesson. You should be so proud of your history group – they were well behaved and they are a credit to you and the school.”
