Induction 2016

This year, due to Year 6 residential trips, the induction for our new year 7 recruits stretched across three days. The first induction day for Ruskin, St Mary's and St Sampson's students was held on Friday 24 June 2016. This was followed by the main induction on Thursday 30 June 2016 and Friday 1 July 2016. We had over 210 students from 30 primary schools in the Wiltshire and Swindon area. Students took part in lessons in Design & Technology, Science, PE, English and Art to name a few. Induction ended with fun and refreshments at the school's Sports Pavilion.

Mr Johnson said, All of the students settled in and mixed with each other extremely well. The aim of the induction is of course to ease the transition from Primary to Secondary School as much as possible. Some of the students will have already experienced a bit of life at Bradon Forest if they attended the Pixar Programme sessions that we now run for Year 5 pupils at the start of each calendar year.

I would like to thank all of the parents for their support in attending the Parents' Induction evening and I look forward to greeting the students back to school after the holidays on Friday 2 September 2016.
