PGL 2017 -Borreaton Park

Never has so much noise been made by so few!

In July, Mr Johnson (Head of Year 7 and Transition) took over 100 students to Borreaton Park, Shropshire for a PGL adventure weekend.

Students enjoyed activities such as the climbing wall, archery, canoeing, assault courses, orienteering and some (very loud) campfire singing.

A firm favourite among staff and students is the chance to take on the dreaded Giant Swing! You are lifted slowly to a maximum of 40ft in your harness. Once you’ve reached that height, you must pluck up the courage to pull the rope to launch yourself into the air, before kicking your feet up to enjoy the swing. It’s not for the faint-hearted!

Don’t just take our word for it. Our students and their parents gave great feedback:

“I was delighted that Hannah went three days without an electronic gadget or any makeup! She really enjoyed all the activities and could not stop talking about the trip when she returned!”- Miss C Bibey.

“He came home tired but saying he had really enjoyed it and was chuffed he did the giant swing to the highest point.” Mrs K Henry

“Katie had a wonderful time at the PGL weekend and came home absolutely buzzing and with lots of stories to tell.” Mr and Mrs Hayward

We would strongly encourage any Year 7 student to sign up for PGL 2018. You will push yourself to your limits and have a blast doing it!
