Stage Combat Workshop

On Tuesday 28 June, Year 10 Drama students experienced a professional Stage Combat workshop, led by Dominic Waldron, our in-house professional actor and director.

Miss Noone said, "This is such a fantastic opportunity for the students. They are able to learn some exciting new skills that they'll be eager to put in to practice as they start the new GCSE. The response has been great to watch, the whole group were really enthused!"

The group learnt basic combat techniques such as hair pulling, face slapping, strangulation, upper cuts, dragging across the floor, ear and nose pulling plus the theory of punching. They also got to grips with the official terminology so could be at home on any set of Eastenders!

Thank you to Dominic for imparting his knowledge on the group. Dominic has previously led this workshop in Kingston Gramma School, St Mary's School in Calne and Burford Boarding School. Knowing that these skills are used on the professional stage created a real buzz among the students.
