Swindon Schools Netball Tournaments

Report from Mrs Evans:

U'14's: With the vast majority of the squad being Year 8, the team arrived at the tournament under no pressure. The squad played all their pool matches with enjoyment and commitment, winning all their matches against Dorcan, Ridgeway, Nova Hreod and Lydiard Park Academy, conceding only 11 goals to reach the semi's as pool winners! They then met Commonweal and were unfortunately outplayed against an older experienced team losing 4-1.

The girls bounced back in the 3rd/4th playoff to beat Lydiard Park Academy again 4-2.

To finish 3rd in an U14 tournament when 7 of the squad were Yr 8 was an amazing achievement. Here's to next year!!

Players of the tournament were Emma Osborne and Emily Rule.

U’16's

Missing a few key players, the girls started the tournament rattled, unable to find their form and lost their first 3 matches against Nova, Kingsdown and Warnford. With a few squad changes, the girls upped their game and went on to beat Ridgeway and RWBA but finished a disappointing 4th in their group. Player of the tournament was Lauren Williams.
