Term 6 Sports Round-Up

Term 6 was another busy term for the PE department (aren't they all!), not least because of the official opening of the new Sports Hall and a very successful Sports Day! We also had a return visit from Britains Fastest Snowboarder, Jamie Barrow, a student organised Primary Sports Competition, and individual student success in the Dance World Cup.

Talking of outside succes, well done to Harvey Fox and Amelia Curtis who will be both be representing Swindon Town Football Club during the 2017/18 season.

Amy Warre achieved another PB in her long jump; now 4.54m, and as a result has been selected to represent Wiltshire in the inter-county championships this August in Exeter for long jump and high jump.

Back in June, Hannah Peachey and Jazz Payne joined the rest of the Swindon Town U15 team for a football tournament in Barcelona, and Paige Lowtoo represented England for the Youth Fencing Championships.

Thank you to all our students who supported the Quick Cricket Festival in Cricklade in June, pictured above.

We had success in the U'13 Swindon Schools' Tennis Competiton and well done to U'13 Girls tennis teams for winning their pools in the June tournament, qualifing for the county final!

Year 9 missed out on the Swindon Schools' Cricket final having come second to Ridgeway in the semi. Well done to Billy Saunders for the man of the match and Ethan Carlisle on being top run scorer in his first ever cricket match.

We very much look forward to welcoming our new Year 7's in September. Try outs for all teams will be announced in the new term. We wish all our students, players, supporters and parents an enjoyable and active summer break!
