The Big Sing, 2016

Over 60 new Year 7 students took part in their first Music Concert at Bradon Forest. Each tutor group chose a song and then used it as the basis for last terms Music lessons. They were then offered the opportunity to perform in their tutor groups as part of The Big Sing, two concerts in one night!

7R1 chose to enhance their performance of Justin Timberlake's, Can't Stop the Feeling, by signing the lyrics as well as singing!

7P2 had four students for the first performance and only two for the second. Mia Robinson and Lille Le Page sang Count on Me, by Bruno Mars, beautifully. Mr Hutchings, their Tutor, commented: "I was incredibly proud of Mi and Lille. To perform in front of 140+ audience members, in such a small group in their first term is admirable."

All participants earned a certificate, House Point and also got to check off a 'Take Every Opportunity' in their planners.

Head of Music, Mrs Hutchings, said: "The enthusiasm was notable from all the participants. We'd love to have them join the choir! I'm continually impressed with how the standard improves year on year. Well done everyone!"

Thanks to Tom Keen and Emily Musty, Year 10, who compered the evening.

Mr Martch-Harry, Head of Creative and Performing Arts, said: "It was really lovely to hear such positive feedback from the audience. We are grateful to have such supportive parents and are looking forward to developing this for next year!"
