The Wizard of Oz Review

Random river dancing, a '90's wicked witch of the West and power ballads from the Tin Man. This production of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz certainly wasn't like the film I remember!

Le Navet Bete returned to the Bradon Forest Theatre for the 3rd time on Wednesday 27 April with their family friendly show, and the packed audience loved every minute of it. After being transported to the magical world of Oz from a whirlwind ride on a Kansan typhoon, Dorothy lands herself with a new pair of emerald slippers after accidentally squishing the Witch of the East. The much loved characters of Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion then join Dorothy on her journey to the Emerald City... although not quite in the way you remember! Hilarity ensues as the unlikely team follow "the road of yellow bricks! The road of yellow bricks!" bursting in to song and dance and using puppets so good that you couldn't tell they were fake (ahem) along the way. It was also the most convincing Dorothy an all-male cast has ever produced...

Thank you so much to Le Navet Bete for yet another wonderful show. If you didn't catch it. you missed out!
