Where The Wall - Street Art Workshop for Year 10 Artists

On Thursday 24 November, Year 10 Artists took to the streets of Bristol for a tour of some of the local street art. The guided tour, hosted by Where the Wall, included some history of graffiti and street art, how Bristol has embraced the artistic movement and discussion of the techniques used. The students were also able to get up close and personal with some famous art including pieces from BanksyInkie and Nick Walker.

The group then headed to one of the studios for an 'Introduction to Stencil' workshop. After a brief demo, students were able to choose from a selection of pre-cut lazer stencils and put their own artistic stamp on it.

"There were some really cool pieces of art that came out of the workshop and the students really seem inspired. It was interesting to learn about the development of street art and how each artist has their own flare. We all left wondering whether anyone will ever know who Bansky is!" Mr Martch-Harry
