Students selected for Wiltshire Hockey Advanced Coaching

Katie Miles, a 13 year old Bradon Forest student, as been selected to participate in this years Junior Advanced Course (JAC) with Wiltshire Hockey. The programme involves six two hour coaching sessions over a three month period, culminating with a tournament in February. If Katie is successful in the tournament, she will be available to play for her county. 'Graduation' will also guarantee her place on the JRC (Junior Regional Course) in the Spring.

Katie, who plays for both Swindon (U'16, Ladies 2nd squads) and Cirencester (U'14 squad) Hockey Clubs, got a taste for the sport in Year 3, when Chris Jones (now retired) from Swindon Hockey Club visited Peatmoor Primary School to offer sessions to the youngsters. She now trains three days a week!

I play hockey because I love it, and it keeps me fit!

News just in: Chloe Sylvester, a Year 9 students and Katie's cousin, has just been invited on to the JAC too! Keeping it in the family! Best of luck to Katie and Chloe for the JAC and we look forward to hearing about it all in February!
