Please take a look at this term’s activities.

At Bradon Forest extra-curricular activities are greatly valued as an important element of school life. We encourage students to Take Every Opportunity and believe this is an important part of providing an all-round education. Students are able to choose their own extra-curricular activities from the wide range on offer and all activities are free. The array of opportunities allows for our students to participate and excel outside the classroom.

The What’s On Out of School Hours (WHOOSH) programme continues to flourish again this year with a range of clubs and activities in all areas of the school.  Art, Drama, Music, DT,  Textiles, are just some of the lunchtime and after school activities available. Other enrichment activities/projects include, Young Interpreters, Jazz Band and Dungeons and Dragons, to name but a few!

Also on offer are the vast range of sports clubs and teams to suit all abilities and experience, many of which compete at local, regional and national level with great success. The Bradon Forest Theatre hosts shows produced by our students too.

We have two late buses that leave the site on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 4.50 pm. These journeys are FREE.

Busy people are always the ones who find time to do things (a valuable life skill)!

The Library and Book Borrowing

The Library Learning Centre is a central resource for the whole school.  It promotes reading for enjoyment and helps students to develop the skills necessary to become independent learners.  Several events are hosted in the library each year to support subjects, these include author visits, literature workshops and book fairs.  Students who particularly enjoy library-based activities are encouraged to become student librarians or to join our lunchtime club.  Student librarians are encouraged to help other students to choose suitable books and have duties to perform whilst in the library.  Students are encouraged to make recommendations and top fiction titles are purchased as soon as they are published so that the library is a vibrant and up-to-date environment.  It is open for all students to use before registration, break times and lunch times and students in Years 7 and 8 have a timetabled library lesson fortnightly.

Students can search the library catalogue using a new online system developed during lock down. Students have been shown this system in school and can also access it at home.

Download instructions to the system here. Queries can be emailed to the Librarian, Mrs Sirrelle, on dsirrelle@bradonforest.wilts.sch.uk
