Assessment

Students at Bradon Forest are graded using the new GCSE system of 9-1 in all of their subjects and are set meaningful targets for the end of each academic year.  These are based on the outcomes from their Key Stage 2 SATs.  In some cases, targets may be considerably higher than their working at grade. This may be because it is a subject that they previously did not study extensively at primary school such as Design and Technology, Modern Foreign Languages or Music.

Students, parents and carers are provided with assessment information three times a year in Years 7, 8 and 9 and five times in Years 10 and 11. These data capture sheets include effort grades for classwork and homework, as well as a current working at grade. During the year students have extended tutor times to look in detail at their data capture sheet, reflect on their progress and examine their next steps.

Any questions regarding the data capture sheets should be directed to your child’s tutor in the first instance.
