Goodbye to all our Staff leavers

At this end of this term it is with great sadness that we will be saying goodbye to several colleagues who have worked hard during their time at Bradon Forest and contributed a great deal to our school.

Mr Winward has been an incredibly valued member, not only of our teaching team, but also Senior Leadership Team for the past eight years.  He has held a number of key roles in the school including Pastoral Deputy Headteacher, responsibility for careers and progression, and has involved himself in countless activities and events during his time at Bradon Forest.  Mr Winward has always put the students first and worked hard to develop them as individuals.  They will remember him, I am sure of that.  We wish Mr Winward and his family well as they venture south to the Falkland Islands where he will take up the position of Headteacher of the Falkland Islands Community School; it is a post made for him.  His skills and talents, not only as Headteacher but as a figure in the community will be appreciated.  Good luck and thank you from everyone at Bradon Forest.

Modern Languages:  We are very sorry to see Mrs Welch and Mrs Atherall leave us this year.   Mrs Welch has been a long standing member of the team and all her hard work and support in the department over the years has been appreciated.  Her input will be sorely missed.  We wish her well in her future adventures!  Good luck from all!    Mrs Atherall has only been with us a short time, but she has brought new ideas to an 'old' team!  We are delighted by her appointment to teach in Battle near Hastings and we know that she will be an asset to her new school!  We wish her all the best in her future career.

Science:  We are sad to say goodbye to Miss Gilbert who has enjoyed the start of her teaching career with us here at Bradon Forest. Miss Gilbert will be joining St Laurence School in Bradford-on-Avon next year. She has been a tremendous asset to the Science Faculty and the wider school. As well as being an outstanding teacher, Miss Gilbert has led the Science Club, organised the annual PGL trip to France and inspired students with her passion for her subject and enthusiasm for sport.

English:  The English Department are sorry to say 'farewell' to Mrs McIver, Mrs Rees and Miss Harding who are all leaving to join new schools. Mrs McIver and Mrs Rees both joined Bradon Forest as NQTs four years ago and have been valuable colleagues who are held in high esteem. Both have been responsible for innovative and successful developments within the department. Miss Harding has been with us for 12 months to complete her NQT year; during this time she has shown herself to be a skilled professional and supportive colleague. We are also sorry to lose Mrs Pestille. We all wish these staff the very best of luck in their new roles.

Drama: Mrs Matthews leaves us having taught Drama and Media Studies for over five years.  She has been a valued member of the department, directing a number of successful productions as well as devising new theatre and teaching Drama and Media to GCSE.  Her enthusiasm and support for students of all abilities will be missed and the Expressive Arts and English Faculties wish her every success in her new venture.

PE:  It will be a sad loss to the PE department as we say farewell to Miss Pratten who is moving out of the area to continue her career in teaching PE.  She has been a huge asset to the department, particularly in development of the Dance, Cheerleading and aesthetics within PE.  We wish her all the very best for the future.
