Work Experience

With very limited opportunities for students to be able to gain valuable work experience in the current climate a number of organisations are now offering virtual work experience.  Opportunities we have shared with our students already this year include VWEx in the arts industry, construction and financial services.  Great Western Hospital have hosted several ‘ask a question’ sessions and Norland Nannies have offered free courses to students too.  All opportunities are advertised to students via our daily student bulletin.

Details of current opportunities we are aware of:

Apprenticeship Insight Day to the Broadcasting Sector

Ravensbourne University London is currently working with BBC, Sky, F1, BBC Studioworks, ITV and many other broadcast companies to attract students to their new Broadcast Engineering Apprenticeship which will start in September 2021.

The broadcast sector is facing a severe skills shortage and is currently not able to recruit the engineering and technical talent it needs, and in addition to this, it is also looking to attract and recruit a more diverse workforce. If students like travelling, sport, festivals, programmes such as Britain's Got Talent then this may well be for them!

Ravensbourne is hosting a virtual event, with all of the industry partners (BBC, Sky, F1, BBC Studioworks etc) on 16th November at 4 pm to chat to people about this exciting new apprenticeship. They can hear directly from those working in the industry and ask any questions

Airbus’ ‘
Aerospace Virtual Work Experience’ is for Year 10 - 13 students. It involves around 10 hours of activities that students can complete at a time that suits them - meaning they don’t have to take time away from school.

The free virtual work experience lasts for one week and would involve Bradon Forest students (virtually) meeting a variety of team members working in areas anywhere from space to civil aviation.

You will learn about sustainability and manufacturing and complete work and assignments to get an understanding of what life at Airbus is like.

Student’s will receive a certificate directly from Airbus themselves, which is something you can use in both your CVs and personal statements.

This is a great opportunity for our students and places are limited, so if you are interested you need to apply via the below link as soon as possible!
